Again another fantastic day of racing in Iowa. Temps in the 70's Sunny, not too much wind and wonderful competitors. I confess that I was too busy to check out much of the competition but both races had some heads up racing. The confines of Scott County Park again provided a wonderful venue where the races covered a 2.4 mile cicuit.

In the 10AM Race (24 miles) the Juniors, Women, and Cat 5 raced. We had several new racers joining us for their first event including 60 year old Skip Clarquist in his USAC debut. We also had some new 10- 14 year olds who we haven't seen out racing since the last cyclocross season. As it unfolded Joe Mann (MCCC), Scott Fett (2Bee) and Zack Blair (DICE) finished 1,2,3 with Connie Inks (ICCC) right behind sitting in for a workout before heading to DuBuque on Sunday.

11:30 Race (28.8 miles) Cat 1-4's and Masters 40/50/60+ The race began with a staggared start. Adam Price (ICCC) and Tracy Thompson (Altas) put some distance on the Open field and raced up the final hill to the finish with Tracy giving up the win to Adam.

We'd like to make special note to Thank all the members of Proctor Cycling from Bloomington / Normal, who joined us for our 'little' event. We appreciated their coming and made sure that they had enough beer and baked goods to make it to their next race.

As always we thank everyone for coming and remind all that the next event is CODY III the Hummer Hammer on June 3rd...This will be an IOWA CUP Event with a Cash Prize Purse. The event will again take place below the QUAD CITIES AIRSHOW this year featuring the USAF Thunderbirds. We hope to see you all at the next race.
